“Great Career Paths You May Not Have Considered”

Have you considered all your options? While most law students pursue careers in law firms, there are many other career options available. It is easy to overlook employers who typically do not recruit through OCI. Join us on Monday, August 31 to hear from four alumni who pursued paths less traveled by law students – in government positions/fellowships, state/specialty court clerkships and solo practice. These panelists will share their stories and offer advice for pursuing a position in their area. Resources will also be provided to help you jumpstart a job search focusing on employers who do not traditionally recruit on-campus.

Guest speakers:
Susan Cheng (JD’07), Presidential Management Fellow- Dept. of Homeland Security
Clara Cottrell (JD’07), former clerk with the NC Business Court
Samuel Feemster (JD’79), FBI Special Agent
James Tolin (JD’04), opened his own firm in Winston-Salem after law school
