Each summer, employers across the country open their doors to law students in order to encourage them to learn about their company or firm. These are great ways of starting and/or growing your network. Students can also learn about firm culture, daily work, meet professional contacts, and learn how to be a successful candidate for future career opportunities.

If you have ties to, or plan to work in the geographic location(s) of the following events, you are encouraged to attend one or more of these events. Even if home is Georgia but you want to practice in DC, consider going to the Georgia firm’s reception — you never know who you will meet. Plus, it’s great practice!

Be sure to dress to impress! When attending any formal party or reception, professional attire is highly recommended.

If you are interested in a particular firm in a different geographic location other than the ones listed above, contact the Recruiting Coordinator at that firm to see if there are any upcoming law student open houses or receptions for you to participate. The NALP Directory is also a good resource for you to identify recruiting coordinators of firms that may be hosting these specialized receptions.
